Seven set for All Africa U19 Badminton championship in Benin

Seven (7) Badminton players are to represent Uganda at the forthcoming All African U19 championship set to take place in Benin.

The All African U19 Badminton championship is to attract a number of 13 Nations including Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda among other Nations.

This championship will start ok n 26th August and will run till 1st October 2021.

Summoned players include captain Expetito Emudu, Paul Makande, Tracy Nalowoza, Fadilah Shamikah, Guna Kusal, Abdulswabulu Ssempiri, Abedi Musa Bukenya and the team shall be under Ronald Lule as it’s coach.

The chairperson of the Uganda Badminton federation Annett Nakamya is confident this championship is to fine tune players for the forthcoming championships nationally and internationally.
“The team has been together for a period of one month and I believe it is set to perform. We didn’t have trials but looked into the prior tournaments.
“We are not only targeting glory at this championship, but also fi ategezeza ne tune players for the forthcoming tight schedule at the senior national team.” Nakamya.

Team captain Emudu Expeditor vows to make the nation proud and staging good show is a priority to them.
“It’s quite a while since last played due to COVID-19. It’s been only a month of preparation but we expected the best out of us and we are confident we have the confidence to shine.
All the players we are to face are good but preparation determines performance.” Expeditor Emudu.
