Mengo City produced a dominant display to crush Park FC 5-1 in their Futsal Super League Frenzy Edition quarterfinal clash at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena on February 21st.

Despite Park FC taking an early lead through Owen Othieno in the 14th minute, Mengo City responded swiftly with a thunderous equalizer from Akram Ssali.

Mengo City’s junior team, Mengo Sports Academy, took center stage, with star player Ian Tugume turning the game around just before halftime.

The team extended their lead midway through the second half, making it 3-1, and Park FC struggled to keep up.

Abdulkarim Tebela sealed the victory with a late brace, but his celebration was cut short as he suffered a serious knee injury while scoring the team’s fifth goal.

Mengo City’s impressive win booked their spot in the semifinals, where they join Kisenyi FC, QC Mbarara, and Crown Lubiri.

Kisenyi FC edged out Edgar’s Youths 4-3, thanks to a late goal from Mohammed Abdi.

QC Mbarara produced a remarkable performance, defeating Kabowa Dream Team 4-1 despite playing with only five players.

Crown Lubiri battled Kabuusu Clouds to a 3-3 draw before edging them 7-6 in a penalty shootout.

With the Frenzy Edition quarterfinals concluded, attention now shifts to the Uganda Cup semifinals, scheduled for Friday, April 28, 2025.

Mengo City’s impressive form makes them a favorite, but they will be concerned about the fitness of Abdulkarim Tebela ahead of their crucial semifinal clash.

Meanwhile, Park FC will regroup after their disappointing exit and focus on the main Futsal League.
