National Pool Open Qualifiers: Kajjubi, Namuganyi, Namubiru book slots to Lugogo
Eventual winner Jacinta Kajjubi, Lucky Namuganyi and Peace Namubiru qualified to represent Mukono region at the 2024 National Pool Open Grand finale.
The three Kajjubi, Namuganyi and Namubiru finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the Mukono region Qualifiers held on Friday, the 11th October 2024 at Itaano Arena.
In a race to five series, Jacinta Kajjubi won 5-1 against Namuganyi Lucky to be crowned Mukono region champion.
Meanwhile, Peace Namubiru leapfrogged Sylvia Nankindu in a race to four series in the third place classification duel that decided who takes the third slot.
To reach the final, runner up Lucky Namugenyi won 4-1 over 4th placed Sylvia Nakindu Slyvia to book a final date with the eventual winner Kajjubi.
In the second semi-final, eventual winner Jacinta Kajjubi laboured past Peace Namubiru in a 4-2 win.
The three Jacinta Kajjubi, Lucky Namugenyi and Peace Namubiru will feature at the 2024 National Open Grand finale in Lugogo later this year.
The tournament attracted 14 participants out of the expected 32.
There is growing uncertainties and building pressure in qualification tournaments as many are yet to decide on where to qualify from.
