Byekwaso era at SC Villa starts with an emphatic win over Mbarara City

Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa won convincingly 4-2 against Mbarara City at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium on an Monday evening, the 16th September.

Arnold Odong, Elvis Ngonde, Patrick Jonah Kakande and Hakim Kiwanuka were target for the 17 time league champions SC Villa.

Seiri Arigumaho and second half substitute Paul Busolo scored for Mbarara City FC.

In seven minutes, defender Arnold Odong headed home of a David Owori free kick to send the Jogoos into an early lead.

Ngonde struck from distance, about 30 yards for the home team’s second goal on 18 minutes.

34 seconds into the last stanza, Kakande scored the third goal to spark wild celebrations from the Jogoos.

Right winger Kiwanuka sealed the victory with a super cool finish to give Villa a decent win.

This was Morley Byekwaso’s first league game since taking over from Serbian Dusan Stajanovic.

The next Jogoo game will be away to Mbale Heroes on 22nd September 2024.
