
2025 Africa Seniors Squash Championship tees off in Kampala
The 2025 Africa Seniors Squash Championship has officially begun, with 84 young talents from 11 countries converging on the Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala for six days of thrilling individual and team events.

The tournament, featuring top players from Uganda, Zambia, Rwanda, Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, and Botswana, promises to be an unforgettable experience.

The opening ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including Uganda Squash Federation President Mr. Tamwesigire John Bosco Ahimbisibwe, Africa Squash Federation President Mr. Mlilo Lucky, and representatives from the National Council of Sports (NCS).

The Government of Uganda has sponsored the championship, and USRA General Secretary, Madam Shiffah Natambi, expressed her excitement, saying, “Hosting the first-ever continental squash championship is a huge achievement, and we’re excited for Team Uganda to shine on home soil.”
With a total prize fund of $75,000, the stakes are high, with $3,000 up for grabs for individual winners and $4,000 for the winning team.
USRA President Mr. Ahimbisibwe extended gratitude to the government and invited all to “experience the thrill of squash and engage in shaping the sport’s future in Africa.”

The event also features an AGM and coaching course, promising a memorable experience at the Pearl of Africa.
