Wakiso Hill sacked head coach Rogers Nkugwa on Monday, November 25, 2024.

Nkugwa had joined the team at the start of the second round of the previous season and helped them stay in the league after they had only garnered five points.

However, this season, the team has struggled under his leadership, earning only four points from eight games and remaining winless in the relegation zone.

Recently, Nkugwa had informed his bosses that he was leaving his position after a 0-3 home defeat to league champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.

However, after a board meeting, he changed his mind and decided to stay.

Despite this, the team’s results did not improve, leading the bosses to decide to fire him.

The club expressed appreciation for Nkugwa’s contributions, including helping the team reach the semifinals of the 2024 FUFA Women Cup, and wished him the best in a statement posted on their social media.

Wakiso Hill will now begin the search for Nkugwa’s replacement and will soon confirm the news of the new head coach.

Their next game is against bottom-side Tooro Queens this weekend.
