Vipers SC Clinches Historic League and Cup Double with Dominant Win Over KCCA FC

In a thrilling conclusion to the 2024/25 Uganda Cup, Vipers SC emerged victorious, defeating KCCA FC 2-0 at the newly-constructed FUFA Kadiba Stadium in Kampala.

The Plascon-sponsored Venoms, who had already secured the Uganda Premier League title, wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with Livingston Mulondo opening the scoring just four minutes into the game.

Mulondo’s goal set the tone for a tense and closely contested match, with KCCA FC responding with attacking intent.

However, Vipers’ defense held firm, and they doubled their lead in the 55th minute through Yunus Ssentamu’s clinical finish.

Despite late pressure from KCCA FC, Vipers SC maintained their composure and secured a well-deserved victory, completing a historic league and cup double.

The win marks a remarkable achievement for the Venoms, who have demonstrated their prowess in Ugandan football.

As a result of their cup triumph, Vipers SC will receive Sh50m in prize money, courtesy of Stanbic Bank and Plascon Paints.

Additionally, league runners-up NEC FC have secured Uganda’s second continental slot and will represent the country in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, pending official confirmation from FUFA.

The victory cements Vipers SC’s status as one of the top teams in Ugandan football, and their performance will undoubtedly inspire their fans and set a high standard for future competitions.
