Uganda’s pool teams have kicked off the Africa Ultimate Pool Championship with impressive performances in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
The She Pool Cranes, Uganda’s women’s team, have made a sensational start, showcasing their resilience and determination.
After a tough opening loss to the Uganda men’s team, the She Pool Cranes bounced back with a thrilling 13-12 win over Kenya’s senior side, followed by a convincing victory over Team Windhoek from Namibia.
This impressive start has earned them a crucial bonus point and boosted their standings in the championship.
The Uganda men’s team has also had a flying start, maintaining their unbeaten streak with two solid wins.
They began with a commanding victory over Uganda B, then defeated Tanzania’s Cuemasters 16-9.
The men’s team is led by captain Rashid Wagaba, who expressed confidence in their preparation and talent.
The team events will run until Wednesday, followed by the singles competition later that afternoon.
The Africa Ultimate Pool Championship concludes on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
