The highly anticipated 2025 Nile National Pool Championship has been officially launched at the Nile Breweries headquarters in Luzira, Uganda.

Over 10,000 players are expected to participate in this prestigious tournament, which will culminate in the grand finale at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The tournament, organized by the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) in partnership with Nile, will officially start on October 3, 2025, with preliminary rounds of qualifiers.

The competition will feature 320 centers advancing to 40 regional qualifiers, ultimately leading to the grand finale on December 20, 2025, at MTN Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

The winners of the 2025 Nile National Pool Championship will walk away with a brand-new car in both categories.

This year’s tournament promises to be the biggest in history, with participants from all over Uganda competing for the top prizes.

Nile’s brand manager, Eric Malinga, emphasized the brewer’s continued investment in the annual tournament, highlighting its role in promoting national pride and unity.

“The pool open gives us that national platform to do this, especially because it reaches almost every corner of this country,” Malinga said.

The Chairman of the Pool Association of Uganda, Bob Trubish, praised Nile’s long-standing contribution to the sport, noting that their support has been crucial in building a strong future for pool in Uganda.

“Nile has been a partner in building a future for pool in Uganda, from supporting grassroots qualifiers to powering the grand finale,” Trubish said.

The men’s category has seen a range of talented winners over the years, including:

– 2010: Jonah Turigye

– 2011: Haliphan Ntwali

– 2012: Alfred Gumikiriza

– 2013: Jonah Turigye

– 2014: Fahad Ssewankambo

– 2015: Amos Ndyagumanawe

– 2016: Sula Matovu

– 2017: Fahad Ssewankambo

– 2018: Mansoor Bwanika

– 2023: Ceasar Chandiga

– 2024: Mansoor Bwanika
