Uganda’s Paul Lomuria wins a Gold at CAC Road Cycling African championship in Nairobi
Ugandans have dominated the CAC Road Cycling African championship U23 category podium winning both the Gold and silver medals in Nairobi, Kenya.
Uganda’s Paul Lomuria stood with his shoulder above the rest to win his first Gold medal at the championship.
The Ugandan under Elly Kipchoge training camp, is a Senior Four graduate at Kenya’s Cheptigit High School.
Lomuria also won the 2023 Grand Nairobi Bike Race and finished second at the 2022 CAC Road Cycling African championship.
In the second place was another was another Kenyan based Ugandan Lawrence Lolot.
The silver medalist under the sponsorship of Kipchoge Academy is also a Senior Four graduate in Kenya.
Lolot has finished second to grab a silver maintaining his very place in the 2022 CAC Road Cycling African championship Junior category.
The bronze medal went to South Africa’s former track rider Joshua Francis, who also featured at the World Junior championships in Tel Aviv in 2022 and Cairo in 2021.
Joshua is also a five time South Africa’s National elite champion.
Uganda’s more hope for medals is in Elite Cyclist Charles Kagimu and the 2024 Grand Nairobi Bike Race Black Mamba category champion Aziz Ssempijja.
The CAC Road Cycling African championship started today Wednesday, the 9th and will climax on Sunday 13th October in Kenya.
