St. Noa Girls, Kitende gear up for 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship

The highly anticipated 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship is set to kick off on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the University of Ghana in Accra.

Uganda’s representatives, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana and St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende, will face stiff competition in their respective categories.

St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, representing Uganda in the girls’ category, was drawn into Group B alongside defending champions South Africa, DR Congo, and The Gambia.

Their fixtures include:

– vs South Africa (Wednesday, April 23, 10am)

– vs The Gambia (Thursday, April 24, 10am)

– vs DR Congo (Thursday,  April 24, 3pm)

St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende, representing Uganda in the boys’ category, was pitted into Group A with hosts Ghana, South Africa, and Algeria.

Their schedule includes:

– vs Ghana (Wednesday, April 23, 11am, after the opening ceremony)

– vs Algeria (Thursday, April 24, 11am)

– vs South Africa (Thursday, April 24, 3pm)

Legendary CAF figures Asamoah Gyan and Clementine Toure conducted the official draws for the tournament, which promises to be an exciting U15 football extravaganza.

The top two teams in each group will progress to the semi-finals, making every match crucial.

The tournament will feature 16 teams in both the girls’ and boys’ categories, divided into four groups of four teams each. The competition will run from April 23 to April 26, 2025.

The groups are as follows:

GIRLS:

Group A: Ghana (Hosts), Morocco, Benin, Malawi

Group B: South Africa (Defending Champions), Uganda, DR Congo, The Gambia

BOYS:

Group A: Ghana (Hosts), Uganda, South Africa, Algeria

Group B: Tanzania (Defending Champions), Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire (debut), DR Congo
