St. Mary’s Kitende dominates St. Noa in one-sided semi-final to set a final tie with Buddo

St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende has showcased its dominance in the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Netball tournament, dismantling St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana 59-32 in a one-sided semi-final match in Kakamega, Kenya.

Kitende’s impressive performance saw them lead in all four quarters, with scores of 18-8, 36-14, 46-25, and 59-32.

However, the match took a dramatic turn in the final quarter when St. Noa’s captain and goal attacker, Tricia Nalumansi, suffered a nasty injury.

A collision with her goalkeeper, Annet Nandagala, resulted in Nalumansi’s three front teeth dislocating and her upper lip being deeply cut.

In the other semi-final match, national champions Buddo Secondary School eased past newbies Hamdan Islamic, winning 46-38.

This sets up a highly anticipated final between St. Mary’s Kitende and Buddo SS, a repeat of this year’s national final.

The semi-final results have also set up a third-place classification match between St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana and Hamdan Islamic.

The final and third-place matches will be played on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Masinde Muliro University in Kakamega, Kenya.

St. Mary’s Kitende has a storied history in the FEASSA Netball tournament, having won 19 titles in the last 21 editions.

Only two other schools, Gombe SS (2002) and St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana (2018), have managed to break their dominance and claim the title.

Semi-Final Results

– Hamdan Islamic SS 38-46 Buddo SS

– St. Mary’s Kitende 59-32 St. Noa Girls School
