Defending champions St. Mary’s Kitende and last year’s finalists Amus College School, have qualified for the semi-finals at the ongoing 21st Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games 2024 boys football.

Holders Kitende thumped  Benjamin Mkapa Secondary School from Tanzania 4-0 to reach the knockout stage.

Tumwesigye Farouq (brace), Nkoola Araphat and Olimi Nyarwa were on target for the all time champions Kitende in a dominant group game win.

In the day’s thriller and a repeat of this year’s National championship final, Co-host Amus College School overcame a resilient and dominant St. Julian High School to storm semi-finals.

Left full back and skipper Toto Majub converted from the penalty mark as hosts registered a hard fought 1-0 slim win over National champions St. Julian High School.

In other Group B action, Musinga High School from Kenya beat APE Rugunga from Rwanda 2-0.

Musinga High School and Amus College School are now tied on points. However, Musinga occupies the top of the table on a goal difference advantage.

The battle for the top spot in this Group B will be determined by today’s matches, where Amus College School will face Kalangalala Secondary School from Tanzania.

Meanwhile, Musinga High School will take on St. Julian School, with the results and goal margins in these matches set to determine the group winner.

In Group A, leaders St. Mary’s Kitende will battle St. Joseph’s Kitale from Kenya in their last group outing this morning.

The biggest game of the day will be a do-or-die clash between hosts Bukedea Comprehensive School and Highway High Secondary School from Kenya.

Bukedea enters this games eyeing for only a win to advance while a draw is just enough for the Kenyan champions to advance as group A runners up.
