Soroti is bloody!: Coach strikes punches to Umpires in a tense clash
The situation at Teso College Aleot in Soroti where the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games II is getting bloody as tempers, anger and furry surpasses humanity.
There happened ugly scenes in two Netball games as fists and punches from coaches landed onto umpires amidst heated exchanges.
However, the ugliest and most serious scuffle happened during a tightly contested tie between St. Francis Busunju and Nankabirwa Memorial.
Two brothers Emmanuel Kibirige and Ivan Mpoza coaching Nankabirwa Memorial harshly man handled an umpire who was only identified as Boid.
The two threw punches towards the umpire contesting his refereeing decision during their slim 16-17 loss against St. Francis Busunju.
It took St. Mary’s Kitende’s games teacher Kisuule’s efforts to rescue the umpire (Boid) from the angry brothers.
The incident comes after just a week when the same coach Emmanuel Kibirige who was umpiring an AISS final game between Madina Islamic and Greenlight survived being beaten by funs for controversial officiating.
The Netball championship has largely been marred with controversies since draws exercise.
It should be remembered that the flow chat has changed twice as there was a lot of manipulations sighted in the controversial change of rankings.
