St. Lawrence University (SLAU) are the 2021 Beach Soccer league champions. SLAU’s 2-0 win over Mutoola pushed them to 24 points, five clear off the second and third place Buganda Royal and MUBs who are tied at 19 points.
Suleiman Ochero and Bruno Bunyanga scored SLAU’s two important goals to seal this season’s trophy.
SLAU opened the day white washing Entebbe Sharks 12-2. The 2021 champions St. Lawrence University have so far played nine games, won 8 and only lost a game to be crowned champions with a game to play on the closing day.
Elsewhere, Entebbe Sharks lost to MUBs in a 13 goals thriller that ended 7-6. Abby Kavuma scored a hat trick, Leden Musoke netted twice and Abdul Malik Mutyaba scored the sixth for Sharks.
MUBs goals came through Pati Wanok and Frank Bomboka all netting thrice as Kasujja Elvis joined the score sheet with one.
Buganda Royal and MUBs are currently second and third respectively. They are tied at 19 points with goals difference separating the two. Mutoola on 14 and Entebbe Sharks (3) points occupy the 4th and 5th respectively while the winless Kiringente sits at the bottom.
This year’s season will climax tomorrow Thursday, the 15th April at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru with an awarding ceremony slated for midday after the league’s last tie between MUBs and SLAU.
