Rukia Naiga successfully defends PAU End of Year Championship title
Rukia Naiga emerged victorious in the PAU End of Year championship, defeating her younger sister Rashidah Mutesi 6-4 in the thrilling final held at La’mour Pab in Kansanga.
This triumph marked Naiga’s successful defense of her title, having won the inaugural edition.
Naiga’s path to the final included a 6-4 semi-final victory over Ritah Ninsiima.
Meanwhile, Rashidah Mutesi produced a stunning performance, overwhelming National Pool Open champion Marion Kisakye 5-1 to secure her spot in the final.
In the third-place classification match, Ritah Ninsiima edged out Marion Kisakye to claim the bronze medal.
The second edition of the tournament attracted a total of 121 participants, with 43 female players competing.
The winners received substantial cash prizes, with champion Rukia Naiga taking home UGX 1,500,000.
Runner-up Rashidah Mutesi earned UGX 800,000, while third-place winner Ritah Ninsiima received UGX 400,000.
The fourth-place finisher pocketed UGX 200,000.
