New UNF executive launch a four year strategic plan and offices
After the election that ushered in new leaders of the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) on 5th June, the new executive officially launched a four year strategic plan, administrative offices and a new flag on Tuesday 13th July 2021.
The historical event was held at the Old Kampala Sports Arena complex, were the new federation offices are.
The newly elected netball president Hon. Sarah Babirye Kityo vowed to put focus onto professionalizing the game, corporate sponsorship, creating a firm secretariat and accountability for the federation funds and assets.
“Our leadership will focus onto the key strategic pillars of governance, administration and finance and marketing, branding, communications, competitions and national teams. This will create a clear path for the sport to self sustainability”. Sarah Babirye Kityo.
State minister for sports Denis Hanson Obua who was also the chief guest at the event promised his endless support to the netball fraternity to further the game’s development and distribution.
Obua urged the new UNF executive to lobby from different stakeholders and consult from experienced partners for smooth management of the sport.
“Always consult from different people especially those with wide experience in the sport and embrace the corporate development. We shall extend all the support as the ministry to see the development of netball” Obua.
Other dignitaries at the event included Dr Lawrence Mulindwa (director of St Mary’s Boarding SSS Kitende and president Vipers SC), Justus Mugisha (FUFA first vice president and president Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Association -FEASSA), Emmanuel Ben Misagga (President, Nyamityobora Football Club) among others.
The new executive will run the federation for a term of four years from 2021-2025.
