FEASSA Girls Football: St. Noa Girls-Zana, Kenya’s Butere Girls into semi-finals

St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana squeezed past Nyakach Girls Secondary School of Kenya to reach this year’s 21st  edition of Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games girls football semi-finals.

Sumayiah Nalumu scored the only goal of the game to extend her tally to three as the 2022 champions won Nyakach Girls 1-0 in a group A tie.

The Uganda representative moved atop of group A on seven points after three games, three more above the second placed Nyakach Girls on four.

In the same, reigning FEASSA and National champions Kawempe Muslim Secondary School suffered a 2-1 loss over Tanzanite SS from Tanzania.

The lost pushed Kawempe to the third place on four points from three games.

Meanwhile, the other Uganda side Rines SS suffered their second consecutive loss to falter their chances to advance from the group.

Rines SS who lost to group B leaders Butere Girls from Kenya on Wednesday before their 2-1 loss to GS Rwemera Rukoma of Rwanda yesterday.

The FEASSA Games 2024 Girls’ soccer final preliminary matches will climax today afternoon with four fixtures.

Group A leaders St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana will face Kenya’s St. Joseph’s – Kitale, whilst, Kawempe Muslim will battle Nyakach Girls in a do-or-die tie.

The winner between Nyakach and Kawempe Muslim will join St. Noa Girls in the semi-finals. A draw in this game, will see Kenya’s Nyakach advance as the group runners up.

In group B, Alliance Secondary School of Tanzania will face off with Rines SS while, Amus College School take on Rwanda’s GS Rwemera Rukoma.

GS Rwemera Rukoma of Rwanda, Alliance (Tanzania) and two Ugandan sides Rines SS and host Amus College School will fight the second slot in the group on the final day.
