Calvary Crowned FUFA Big League Champions, earn promotion to Uganda Premier League

The 2024/25 FUFA Big League season has concluded on a thrilling note, with Yumbe-based Calvary emerging as champions and earning a coveted spot in the Uganda Premier League (UPL).

After 28 games, Calvary stood tall, finishing top of the 15-team table with 52 points.

Exciting Matches on the final day of the season, Calvary hosted Paidha Black Angels at Midigo primary school playground in Yumbe.

Steven Oriokot’s 70th-minute goal proved to be the decisive factor, as Calvary secured a crucial 1-0 win at home.

Meanwhile, Gaddafi thrashed Kataka 3-0 at Mbale Stadium, with Jonathan Mbula, Thomas Kakaire, and Frank Kalanda scoring the goals.

Promotion and Relegation
Gaddafi and Buhimba United also earned promotion to the UPL, finishing second and third with 50 points each.

Buhimba United’s goalless draw against Kiyinda Boys was enough to secure their spot in the top league.

On the other hand, MYDA, Arua Hill, Busoga United, and Booma were relegated to their respective third division leagues.
