Big League: Kitara FC, Mbarara City bounce back to UPL

Kitara FC and Mbarara City bounced back to the top flight after winning their respective games with one game to complete the FUFA Big League 2022/23 season.

Paul Mucurezi, George Ssenkaba and Paddy Muhumuza scored each in Kitara FC’s 3-0 victory against already relegated Adjumani TC.

Mbarara City also defeated debutants Kaaro Karungi 2-0 in Ibanda thanks to Henry Kitegenyi and Jude Ssemugabi.

NEC FC and Police also won the respective encounters but will wait for the last fixture to determine the third side that joins Mbarara City and Kitara FC in the top flight.

Sulaiman Ssesaazi and substitute Tonny Kiberu scored for NEC as they rallied from behind to defeat Kyetume FC at Bugolobi Coffee grounds

Police FC won 1-0 against Booma FC in Masindi, Herman Wasswa headed home for the Cops.

The Cops remain third with 53 points one behind third placed NEC FC.

Soroti City, Adjumani TC, Northern Gateway and Luweero United have been relegated to their respective regional leagues with a game to go.
