Ashraf Mandela returns to Vipers SC for third stint

Vipers Sports Club has welcomed back experienced right-back Ashraf Mandela, who has signed a three-year contract with the Venoms.

This marks Mandela’s third spell at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, where he developed his skills as a youngster at St Mary’s Secondary School.

Mandela has established himself as one of Uganda’s most reliable defenders, with a wealth of experience playing for top-tier clubs.

His journey includes stints at SC Villa and URA FC, where he showcased his abilities in the Uganda Premier League.

He also gained valuable experience playing for Rwanda Police FC in the Rwanda Premier League during the 2024/25 season.

Mandela will compete with Grant Matsiko and Nicholas Wakiro Wadada for a spot in the starting lineup, providing head coach Ivan Minneart with more options and flexibility in the defensive department.

With his experience and skills, Mandela is poised to make a significant impact on the team.

“I am ready to give my best for the team and the fans,” Mandela said, expressing his enthusiasm about returning to Vipers SC.

With the support of the club hierarchy and fans, Mandela aims to establish himself as a key player in the Venoms’ backline.

Mandela’s signing strengthens Vipers SC’s squad, which has seen recent additions, including Robin Kane Hney, Mark Yallah, and Taddeo Lwanga.
