The Buganda Airtel Masaza Cup final is set to make a triumphant return to Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on November 1, 2025, after a 12-year hiatus.

Minister for Youth, Sports, and Talent Development, Owek. Robert Serwanga, confirmed the news during a press briefing at Bulange Mengo, citing renovations at Mandela National Stadium as the reason for the change of venue.

This marks the first time the Masaza Cup final will be held at Nakivubo Stadium since 2013, when Mawokota edged Ssingo 1-0 courtesy of a late Farouk Miya goal.

The stadium has undergone significant renovations and is now ready to host top-tier regional football action once again.

Kyaddondo Ssaza team has been using Nakivubo Stadium as their home venue during this year’s Masaza Cup edition.

The Masaza Cup has reached the quarter-final stage, with exciting matchups set to take place.

The first legs will be held on September 28, 2025, with the return fixtures scheduled for October 5, 2025.

The quarterfinal pairs are:

– Mawokota vs Ssingo: A repeat of the 2013 final, promising drama and excitement.

– Kyaggwe vs Ssese: A clash of two strong teams vying for a spot in the semifinals.

– Busujju vs Buweekula: Both teams will look to cause an upset and progress to the next round.

– Bugerere vs Buluuli: A battle between two teams seeking to make a statement in the tournament.
