Amus, Kawempe, St. Noa, Rines, and Uganda Martyrs storm knockout stage at USSSA National Ball Games I

The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Ball Games I girls football championship has witnessed some thrilling matches, with several top teams qualifying for the round of 32.
Amus College School has emerged as a dominant force, storming into the knockout stage with a convincing 7-0 win over MarryHill in their second group game.
The Kacumbala side has been impressive, scoring a record 18 goals in the tournament so far and yet to concede.
Their qualification to the knockout stage was sealed after their 11-0 thrashing of Gadafi Integrated Academy in the group opener.
Defending champions Kawempe Muslim SS has also qualified for the round of 32, despite playing only one game.
Their 10-0 win over Katikamu SDA in day one was enough to book their spot in the knockout stage, with a game to play against Jinja Comprehensive.
St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, the 2022 champions, has also qualified for the knockout stage with one game to spare.
They secured a narrow 1-0 win over Lammenais, courtesy of Patricia Nayiga’s highly contested goal. St. Noa will face Highway Kiganda in their last group game.
Rines SS has sealed a knockout slot with six points and a game in hand, after beating Kobwin SS 2-0.
Harimah Mupyanga and Justine Ayerango scored the goals for Rines.
Uganda Martyrs High School has also qualified for the round of 16, after easing past Latifah Mixed SS 1-0, following their 6-1 win over Masindi Army SS.
