All the 24 teams confirmed for 2025 AFCON: Mozambique takes final spot
The 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco is set to be an exciting one, with Mozambique clinching the final qualification spot on the last day by defeating Guinea Bissau 2-1 on Tuesday evening.
The qualifying stage saw some shocking results, including Ghana’s failure to qualify for the final tournament.
Meanwhile, Angola, DR Congo, and Gabon are making their return to AFCON.
Sudan and Benin also secured their spots on the last day.
Uganda and Tanzania are the only East African countries that will be participating in AFCON, while Kenya and Rwanda missed out.
After a 12-year absence, Botswana is back in the tournament.
Reigning champions Côte d’Ivoire and former champions Egypt, Senegal, and Algeria have also secured their spots.
Hosts Morocco qualified automatically but won all their games.
The tournament will take place from December 21st, 2025, to January 18th, 2026.
