FEASSSA GIRLS FOOTBALL: Kawempe Muslim beats Wiyeta to win 3rd trophy

Kawempe Muslim Secondary School have beaten Kenya’s Wiyeta to win the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) girls football trophy.
The final held at Huye Stadium in Rwanda ended 2-0.
Fresh from CAF Qualifiers of CECAFA region with Kampala Queens, midfielder Shakira Nyinagahirwa and Hadijjah Nandago scored for Kawempe to clinchl third (3rd) FEASSSA trophy.
Kawempe won their first ever FEASSSA championship in 2012 in Bujumbura (Burundi) before winning their second in 2019 in Arusha, Tanzania.
Kawempe Muslim Secondary School eliminated National champions Amus College School-Bukedea by 2-1 in the semi-final to reach this year’s final.
Defender Samalie Nakachwa and Hadijjah Babirye scored for Kawempe Muslim whilst Zabinah Nambozo got one for Amus College.
Meanwhile, Wiyeta labored for a perfect revenge with a 2-1 win against 2022 champions St. Girls Secondary School-Zana in the semi-final.
St. Noa beat Wiyeta 2-1 in last year’s final in Arusha, Tanzania to win their maiden trophy.
Sylvia Kabene sent the reigning champions into the lead in the opening minute of the game.
Shortly after six minutes, Wiyeta through Melitus Muchera equalized before Wadera Doreen sealed the victory in the dieing minutes of the game.
St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana beat National champions Amus College School-Bukedea by 4-0 to finish third.
