All is set for ESA Park Kitubulu to host U-21 Champions Cup Uganda

ESA Park is set to host the first ever international tournament since it’s inauguration early this year.

The seven against seven facility will play host to U-21 Champions Cup Uganda on Saturday, the 14th July 2023 organized by Green Sports Africa in conjunction with the Master Card Foundation.

About the Facility

ESA Park is on the shores of Lake Victoria in Kitubulu along the Entebbe – Kampala Highway.

The recreational sports facility accommodates football matches for 7 against 7 nature.

Officially opened this year, ESA Park gives playing platform to many youth with free exercise and the on-going ESA premier league intends to be a signature tourney.

About the tournament

The Champions Cup is an initiative to provide a platform for young footballers to compete, while also training them to become healthy.

This tournament targets an age group of players below 21 years as training programs locally and internationally shall be availed to identify special talents.

It starts this Friday, 14th July 2023, as all players of confirmed participating teams receive special training in hygiene, disease prevention, mental well-being, and reproductive health.

This outreach program will be held at Kalangala Hall, Best Western Hotel in Entebbe (Victoria Mall).

The registration of participating teams is free of charge. Lake View Kitinda, Excel Soccer Academy, Entebbe City Soccer Academy, Lweza Starlets, ESA Park, Together For One, Garuga Soccer Academy, Aidenal, Fimbo Soccer Academy have shown interest and confirmed participation

Others late entries are expected to register today before afternoon.

Winners will walk away with trophies. Besides the trophies and medals for outstanding personalities and teams, there is a cash prize of $ 600 for the winning team.

All the quarterfinal teams are also assured of full kits.

Also, the outstanding performers will have opportunities to advance their football careers through the GSA network that spreads wings through various cities and countries in Africa as Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and many others.
