Stanbic Uganda Cup: Misfortunes continue to bite as Arua Hills SC lose to minnows to exit, Express FC advances
For the second consecutive edition, Arua Hill SC lost at the round of 64 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup to see an early exit.
Today evening, the Kongolo boys have lost 2-1 to in spot kicks following a one all draw against Elite FC in a game that was held at Lira Intergrated School.
In 2022 Arua Hill SC lost to West Nile Fourth division side Tipsha FC 6-5 in spot kicks after both sides playing to a two all stalemate.
Arua Hill SC became the third Uganda Premier League side to bow out after Gaddafi FC and Maroons FC.
Express FC defeated Buganda Regional League side Kajjansi United 2-1 at Uganda Clays Kajjansi.
Ronald Kizito who scored in his own net and Joseph Akandwanaho were the goal scorers for Express FC.
Kajjansi United’s only goal was scored by Swaleh Ssimbwa.
In the third game of the day UPDF defeated Bushenyi Veterans FC 4-1 in spot kicks following a goalless draw.
UPDF FC, Express FC and Elite FC join Mbarara City, BUL FC, Pajule Lions, Kitara FC, Junior Eagles, Blue Stars FC, Admin FC, Ndejje University, BUL, Vipers, Jinja North, SC Villa, Police FC, Kiyinda Boys FC, Kigezi Homeboyz, Blacks Power, Wakiso Giants, Onduparaka, Buryaruguru United, Lugazi FC, Mbale Heroes, Soltilo Bright Stars.
The round of 64 will climax on Monday 6th February with two games.
KCCA FC will face off with Kampala Junior Team at Nakibubo Blue Primary School grounds while URA will visit Uganda Pentecostal at St Leo’s Lower Kabarole
