AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Algeria Vs Uganda tie venue changed
There has been a change of Venue for the Uganda Cranes first game of the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers Slated for 4th June 2022.
The venue has been changed from from Oran Olympic Stadium to Algeria’s Capital Algiers at 5th July 1962 Stadium.
“UgandaCranes first game of the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers Slated for 4th June 2022 has been changed to Algeria’s Capital Algiers at the 5 July 1962 Stadium not Oran as earlier communicated,” the statement from Fufa said.
Information reaching our desk says that Algerian football federation had requested CAF to approve their change of Venue that will host their group F Afcon Qualifiers openner.
5th July Stadium is an 85,000 seater stadium and hosted a 1990 African Cup of Nations tournament that was played in Algeria.
Algeria will take on Uganda Cranes before they play Tanzania in Dar essalam four days later and on the same date Uganda will be playing Niger at St Mary’s stadium.
The Uganda Cranes Senior Men’s Team arrived safely at Tunis Carthage Airport-Tunisia on Sunday afternoon ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier game against Algeria.
The team is accommodated at Mouradi Palace Hotel Sousse Marina Kantawi in Tunisia where they will camp for Four days before connecting to Algiers, Algeria for the first game of the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers Slated for 4th June 2022.
