Done Deal: Arnold Ssembuya Switches Forces From UPDF To Police

Police football club confirmed their seventh new signing of the season ahead of the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League season.
Arnold Ssembuya is the midfielder from newly promoted Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) FC who becomes the seventh signing for the cops, he penned down a 3-year employment contract with Uganda Police Football Club.
The 22 year old midfielder featured for UPDF FC last season in the Fufa Big League.
The youngster joined a pool of new players who have already joined the Abdallah Mubiru coached side who includes; left back Eric Ssenjobe from KCCA FC,, Hassan Mahmood from Onduparaka FC, Sammon Oloka, winger Muwadda Mawejje, goalkeeper, Tom Ikara and former Uganda Cranes midfielder Tonny Mawejje.
After putting pen to paper on Thursday, 20, August, the midfielder cum winger did little to hide his delight saying,
“I feel good joining Police FC because it’s one of the best teams in Uganda. I’m promising to work hard for the team to achieve the best.”
Ssembuya, 22, promises to dedicate himself to the club and work very hard towards achieving the club’s objectives. He assured our fans that good results shall come our way.
“It’s just a matter of time as we wait for the league to resume, they will see good results.” He said.
The club’s CEO, Fahad Lumu welcomes the versatile midfielder to the Cop’s family and hopes he will be instrumental in the club’s attempt to rebuild.
“He is an experienced player who played in Masaza Cup. We hope he will help us
revamp and boost our team as we had promised our fans.”
Ssembuya was instrumental in the Big League last season helping UPDF earn promotion to the Uganda Premier League.
Police also extended contracts of many of its last season players and the recent one to renew his contract was club skipper Joseph Sentume.
