Uganda’s Maiden Voyage to the FIFA U-17 World Cup: A 47-man squad announced

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has unveiled a 47-man provisional squad for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

This marks Uganda’s first-ever appearance in the tournament, following an impressive performance at the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, where they secured qualification by beating Gambia in a playoff match.

The team will be led by Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo, who will be assisted by Ronald Ssali.

This will be Ssenyondo’s last assignment as head coach, as Laryea Kingston will take over the youth teams after the tournament.

The Cubs are pitted in Group K alongside France, Chile, and Canada.

Their matches will take place in Qatar from November 3-27.

The team is expected to begin training at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, in preparation for the tournament.
