KCB Bank Strengthens Rally Team with Former Champion Nasser Mutebi

KCB Bank has made a significant investment in Ugandan motorsport, announcing the addition of 2010 Uganda National Rally Champion, Nasser Mutebi, to their rally team ahead of the 2025 Pearl of Africa Rally Championship.
With a sponsorship package worth UGX 167 million, Mutebi joins a talented team of drivers, including Michael George Mukula Jr., Oscar Ntambi, Karan Patel, and Nahkil Sachania.
This move demonstrates KCB Bank’s commitment to fostering excellence in Ugandan sports. According to Managing Director Edgar Byamah, “The Pearl of Africa Rally is more than just a race, it’s a celebration of skill, endurance, and the resilient spirit of Ugandan motorsport.”
The bank’s total investment in the event now stands at UGX 270 million, including a previous sponsorship of UGX 80 million provided to the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) to facilitate event preparations and logistics.
The 2025 Pearl of Africa Rally is scheduled to take place in Mbarara City from May 8th to 10th, 2025, featuring 11 sections that cover a total distance of 486.26 km.
The event will include 188.10 km of competitive stages and 298.16 km of liaison sections, counting towards the FIA African Rally Championship and four other category championships.
