The 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Wakiso Zone Girls football qualifiers have reached the semi-final stage, with four teams emerging as top contenders.

Defending champions and East African Secondary Schools champions St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, last year’s Wakiso finalists Rines SS, Tagy, and Aidan have secured their places in the last four.

Rines SS, coached by Ismail Mukiibi, dominated Fairway in the quarter-finals, winning 4-0.

The team’s prolific goal-scorer, Justine Ayerango, netted a hat-trick, while left-footed full-back Jovia Nakirya added the fourth goal.

This impressive performance follows their 6-0 victory over Mary’s Mount SS in the round of 16, where Ayerango scored four goals and Harima Mupyanga added two.

Meanwhile, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana convincingly defeated Standard High School-Zana (STAHIZA), coached by former Uganda Cranes left-back Nestroy Kizito, with a 6-0 win in the quarter-finals.

The Jimmy Kintu Mwera-led team scored through forward Sylvia Kabene, Imelda Kasimire, an own goal, Sumayiah Nalumu, and a brace from Esther Babirye.

In the round of 16, St. Noa easily dispatched MT. Venon 4-0, with dynamic midfielder Patricia Nayiga scoring a brace and goals from Sylvia Kabene and Nancy Mandera.

In the other quarter-finals, Aidan College edged out London College 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in normal time.

Tagy High School secured a 2-0 win over Rayan Islamic, booking their spot in the semi-finals.

The semi-finals will feature holders St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana against Tagy, while Rines SS will face Aidan College.

The final match is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 15, at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.
