USPA Organising Secretary Bwambale graduates

Experienced sports journalist Francisco Bwambale was among the 61 students who graduated from the Nile Basin Institute of Business, Technical and Vocational Studies today.

Bwambale, who serves as the Organising Secretary of the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA), earned a National Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies, upgrading from a certificate.

While addressing the media, Bwambale emphasized the importance of seeking more knowledge through further studies. “I’m thankful to God for this milestone. It’s a journey worth celebrating. I call upon fellow journalists to always yearn for upgrades.

The knowledge I have acquired will guide me to improve as a journalist. After this diploma, I will seek a degree to become a better person, capitalizing on the experience I have.”

Bwambale has worked with prominent media outlets, including UBC, Record FM, BBS, and currently Ssanyuka Prime.

He previously served as Assistant Treasurer of the USPA, which attained full registration and recognition by the Ugandan government .

The graduation ceremony was presided over by for Member of Parliament and ex-defence minister Suleiman Kyebakoze Madada, who also serves as the institute’s patron.

Madada advised graduates to seek more knowledge and practice what they have learned.

“Always seek more knowledge by furthering studies. You are graduating as experts, and the world awaits. Practice what you have learned, be innovative, and create jobs.”

The institute’s second graduation ceremony saw 61 students graduate in various fields, including:

– Journalism and Media Studies

– Public Administration and Management

– Secretarial Studies

– Fashion and Design

– Electric Engineering

– Automotive Mechanics

– Painting and Decoration

– Hotel and Institutional Catering

– Welding and Fabrication

– Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy

The Mpereerwa-based institute has marked four years since its inception in 2020.
