Uganda’s top rally drivers to race at the 2024 champions sprint in Busiika
The 2024 Champions Sprint has today Tuesday, the 17th December been launched at Extreme Adventure Park in Busiika.
This year’s race set to attract both rally cars and motor bikes will be held on the 26th December.
The highly anticipated event will mark the climax of the 2024 FMU calendar.
Attracting a good number of spectators eagerly awaiting D-day, the race has always left exciting memories to motorsport lovers and enthusiasts over the years.
Over 45 rally and bike racers have confirmed participation by registration including the two former winners Posiano Lwakataka and Ronald Ssebuguzi.
All rally big names/crews have confirmed participation apart from the Moil rally team in Yasin Nasser and co-driver Ali Katumba.
While addressing the media, former champion Ronald Ssebuguzi said, “I stake UGX. 1.5 Million for Lwakataka to grab if he happens to finish ahead of me.
On that day, I will run more than I have ever before and I call upon our fans to come in big numbers to witness my supremacy”.
Meanwhile Lwakataka response was in the same way towards Ssebuguzi and said, “I want to be paired with Ssebuguzi because he wasn’t contented with the Hoima rally stage results.
Am too putting a stake of UGX. 2,000,000 if he dare win me,”
Fresh from representing Uganda National Motocross team, MX Cranes and won the FIM Africa Central Africa Motocross Championship (CAC) in Kenya where he won the MX125 class category, Gift Ssebuguzi will also be on the day’s menu card.
