Ugandan international and Crested Cranes striker Juliet Nalukenge has completed a move to Tanzanian Women’s top-flight league side Yanga Princess.

Nalukenge has signed a one-year employment contract with the Tanzanian outfit.

The clinical goal-poacher had been without a club since departing Apollon Ladies of Cyprus at the end of the 2023-24 season.

Her stint with Apollon Ladies was marked by success, although it was unfortunately cut short by a knee injury that sidelined her for eleven months.

Nalukenge reflected on her return from injury, saying, “I have spent the past months thinking about this moment, the day I would return to the field of play. I’m very delighted to play again. It’s been a tough journey to recovery, but God is great!”

The 21-year-old striker has already arrived in Tanzania and is set to be unveiled by her new club.

Nalukenge is expected to make her debut on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, when Yanga hosts JKT at KMC, Stadium.

Renowned for her exceptional goal-scoring ability, Nalukenge is poised to make a significant impact for Yanga Princess.

Notably, she is the most successful Ugandan female player, boasting an impressive array of titles, including CECAFA and COSAFA titles with the U17, the 2022 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship with the Crested Cranes, and league titles with Kawempe and Apollon in Uganda and Cyprus, respectively.

Nalukenge’s individual accolades include being recognized as the Ugandan Women’s Player of the Year in 2019.

She also finished ninth in the prestigious Goal NXGN Award for the best young female footballer in the world in 2021, among numerous other individual awards.
