FEASSA Girls Football: Habonimana, Kabene goals sink Amus College in St. Noa Girls semi-final win

St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana have beaten Amus College School 2-1 in the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games Girls Football to reach finals.

Esperance Habonimana’s hard strike in opened the scoring in the 10th minute to send the 2022 champions into a 1-0 lead.

Five minutes later, Shaylne Opisa converted from a well struck free kick from 20 yards to level matters in the 15th minute.

Too late in the game, Sylvia Kabene slotted the ball into the lower corner of the goal to seal a 2-1 victory for St. Noa Girls.

This was the third meeting for the two sides. Amus won the 2023 National final against St. Noa by 1-0 in Mbarara and a 3-0 win in this year’s third place classification match during the National championship in Ndejje.

In the second semi-final, Kenya National champions Butere Girls High School won 1-0 against a fellow Kenya side Nyakach Girls Secondary School to reach final.

The two sides will meet in the  final this Monday, the 26th at Amus College in Bukedea.

Meanwhile, Amus College School will face Nyakach Girls Secondary in the third place classification duel tomorrow.
