As the 21st edition of the Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSA) Games get to the door steps, teams have today Friday, the 16th August 2024 arrived at the two host schools Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College in Teso region.

The designated residence for Girls is at the host school Bukedea Comprehensive will boys are accommodated at Amus College School.

Countries Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya and host Uganda will have all their top excellent sporting schools compete for glory in 12 disciplines.

Netball, football, basketball 5X5 and 3X3, rugby 15s and 7s, volleyball, athletics, swimming, badminton, tennis, table tennis, hockey and Handball are the sports disciplines to be competed in.

1690 Uganda students will participate at this year’s edition. This becomes the largest contingent by a single country in the FEASSA Games.

Saidi Musa Kati of Kibuli SS and Amirah Bukenya (Nabisunsa Girls Secondary School) will captain the boys and girls team respectively.

This year’s FEASSA Games will be at Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School in Bukedea district of Teso sub-region.

Uganda was the champion of last event when they successfully defended the overall crown with an impressive performance in the 10-days’ championship hosted in Huye and Gisagara districts in Southern province of Rwanda.

In total, Uganda managed a total of 37 medals; of these 17 were gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze.

Kenya followed suit with 23 medals in total; 8 gold and silver apiece as well as 7 bronze.

Hosts Rwanda followed suit with 12 medals; 4 silver and 8 bronze whilst Tanzania returned home with three medals (2 silver and 1 bronze).

Uganda dominated Swimming (boys and girls), Table Tennis (boys and girls), Soccer (boys and girls), Badminton (boys and girls), basketball for 3X3 and 5×5 per gender, Handball (boys and girls), Netball, Rugby 15’s and Hockey (boys).

This year’s edition is to run from 16th to 27th August 2024 at Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School in Bukedea district.
