2025/26 Pepsi University Football League Draws held

The 2025/26 Pepsi University Football League draws were held at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala, bringing together key stakeholders to determine the groupings for the upcoming season.

The draws were conducted by Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) president Peninah Kabenge Aligaweesa, League manager Obal Atubol, and AUUS General Secretary Patrick Ssebuliba.

The league welcomes five new universities: Lira University, King Caesar University, Soroti University, Mountain of the Moon University, and African Renewal University.

To accommodate the new entrants, the league format has been adjusted, with teams divided into five groups of six (four groups) and one group with five teams.

The groupings are also determined by geographical locations to minimize travel distances.

Group Stage Format
The top teams from each group will automatically qualify for the quarterfinals, and the three best second teams will join to make eight.

The group stages will be played on a single round-robin format.

The 2024/25 University Football League was won by Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi, who secured the title with a 3-0 victory over St Lawrence University.

This year’s edition is set to kick off on Thursday, September 25, 2025, with reigning champions Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi taking on an opponent to be announced shortly.
