Edo Queens sent defending champions Sundowns to an early packing to reach this year’s semi-final stage.
In a dramatic 2-1 win over defending champions in Casablanca last Saturday, Edo Queens rallied from a goal down to force themselves into this year’s semi-finals.
Sundowns had gained a 24th minute 1-0 lead through a Melinda Kgadiete strike off Karabo Dlamini assist.

In the dying minutes, Emem Essien equalized for Edo Queens in the referee’s added time that saw the South African’s title hopes dashed.
The final nail into the Sundown’s coffin was officially hammered by Mary Mamudu.
Mamudu pounced on loose and questionable defending from a set piece to fire the Nigerians into the lead and seal an unforgettable victory over the defending champions.
Meanwhile in a simultaneous Group B fixture on Saturday, debutants FC Masar defied all odds to register a victory over Central Bank of Ethiopia in their final group match to successfully book a slot in the semi-finals.
