The 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Aggrey Zone boys’ football tournament got underway with thrilling encounters on Monday, 23rd March.

Zana Mixed Secondary School made an emphatic statement on the opening day, registering two commanding victories to set the early pace.

In their opening fixture, Zana Mixed secured a 4-2 win over Greenlight High School.

Derrick Olwenyi struck a brace, while Ibra Kazungu and Samuel Sekyanzi each added a goal to complete a strong attacking display.

They carried that momentum into their second match, cruising to a dominant 4-0 victory against Khulafa Islamic Secondary School.

Hakim Kasujja netted twice, with Samuel Sekyanzi and Ibra Kazungu also getting on the scoresheet to seal a comfortable triumph.

Elsewhere, Aidan College delivered the most emphatic result of the day, thrashing Leads High School 8-0.

The side maintained their dominance later in the evening with a convincing 3-0 win over Aggrey Memorial College.

The tournament has attracted 17 teams, divided into four groups—three groups of four teams and one group of five.

Matches are being hosted at Gangu Community Grounds and St. Charles Catholic Parish, with the tournament set to climax on Friday, 27th March at Africa Bible University (ABU) in Lubowa.
