Vipers Sports Club tightened their grip on the top of the Uganda Premier League with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over UPDF FC at the Bombo Barracks Military Stadium on Wednesday.
The visitors started brightly, pressing high and creating early danger through winger Chukwuma, whose teasing cross in the third minute forced defender Da Slyva into a hurried clearance.
Arafat Usama Kiza and Abdul Karim Watambala struck to put Vipers in command before rising youngster Enrique Lubwama reignited the contest with a late equaliser for the hosts.
Despite UPDF’s spirited push, the Venoms held firm to secure their 14th victory in 20 matches, stretching their lead at the summit to four points above Kitara FC.
For UPDF, however, a 13th defeat of the campaign leaves them stranded on 13 points and staring anxiously at the looming threat of relegation.
