In a vibrant display of enthusiasm and commitment, schools vying to host the 2026 USSSA National Championships made presentations to support their bids at the USSSA Offices in Old Kampala.

The event, attended by teachers, head teachers, directors, and USSSA executive committee members, showcased the institutions’ passion for sports development.

The bidding process, which follows inspections of sports facilities and accommodations conducted between October 2-6, will see the successful schools announced in due course.

Five national championships are set to be organized by USSSA, including the Elite Secondary School Games, National Ball Games 1, Football Boys Championship, National Swimming Gala, and Ball Games II (athletics and mind games).

Guest of honor, Odong Sammy, Assistant Commissioner, Department of Physical Education and Sports, Ministry of Education and Sports, commended the schools for their interest in USSSA activities.

“Let us unite and serve this country in whatever capacity God has called us to serve,” he said, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in developing sports.

The bidding schools have put forward their best foot, with some opting for co-hosting arrangements.

The schools include Janan Secondary School Bombo, Forest Hill College Mukono, St. Mary’s College Rushorooza, and Kigezi High School, among others.

The announcement of successful bidders is eagerly awaited, as the country looks forward to the exciting championships.
