Greenlight Islamic Secondary School-Nansana is making waves at the ongoing Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Boys Football Tournament in Ngora.

In a stunning upset, the newbies have shocked East African Secondary Schools reigning champions Amus College in a thrilling 4-3 penalty shootout at the round of 32.

The two sides played out a highly contested 0-0 draw in normal time, but Greenlight Islamic’s resilience and determination paid off in the end.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the team’s spirit and skill, having defied all odds to reach the knockout stage despite being in a challenging group.

Greenlight Islamic will now face Masaka SS in the round of 16, who eliminated Kabalega with a 3-0 win in the round of 32.

Other notable results include Standard High School-Zzana’s 4-3 penalty shootout win over Restore Leadership Academy, and record champions St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende’s 3-0 victory over Bishop Comboni.
