URA FC booked their place in the Uganda Cup quarterfinals with a dominant 3-0 victory over Tapoh FC on Friday at Hamz Stadium.
The hosts dictated proceedings from the outset, with Olimi Nyarwa testing Ismail Ajaru early on. Despite a brief scare when Tapoh nearly struck, James Begisa’s goal-line clearance preserved parity.
URA’s persistence paid off in the 33rd minute as Nyarwa curled home a brilliant opener to hand his side a deserved halftime lead.
After the break, captain Moses Aliro doubled the advantage in the 65th minute, his effort taking a decisive deflection past the helpless Ajaru. Substitute Godfrey Ssekibengo then capped off the performance with a thunderous long-range volley late on.
Tapoh showed resilience but struggled to cope with URA’s intensity. The victory sends URA into the last eight alongside several top contenders.
