Vipers SC narrowly lost 1-0 to Busoga United on Tuesday to end the first round of the Uganda Premier League on the downside.

Ibrahim Kayiwa struck for the hosts at the Fufa Technical Center, Njeru to hand the Venoms their third defeat of the campaign.

On an evening to forget, there were not so many goalscoring chances from Vipers, as they got limited to a few half chances.

Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye, in the 34th minute struck from distance but his low drive was easily saved by goalkeeper Micheal Lutaaya.

The second half was frustrating as Vipers’ dominance on the ball didn’t turn into scoring chances, as the hosts worked tirelessly to foil our attacks.

Vipers remained two points away from the summit, with 27 points behind KCCA FC who are on 29.

The Venoms will not be returning to league action up to at least till February 2023, in a month that will also kickstart our CAF Champions League group stage journey.
