“Cricket Uganda congratulates the Board, Member Clubs, Technical Teams, past leaderships, and the entire cricket community on this historic moment.
Ugandan cricket now has a home. The next era begins,” the organization stated, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Ugandan cricket.

A Dream Realized After 20 Years
The search for a suitable location began over 20 years ago, with seven potential sites viewed in Nakasajja, Gayaza, Mukono, and Kalagi.
After reigniting the search in October 2024, the technical team made a unanimous recommendation on October 1, 2025, which was approved by the board on October 6, 2025.
The contract was signed, and a payment plan was made on November 1, 2025.
A State-of-the-Art Facility
The acquired land boasts several attractive features, including a natural stream that offers water harvesting potential, a sports-friendly terrain with naturally flat acreage, and natural pine and vegetation that provide an ideal watershed and scenery.
The site has also passed environmental checks, boundary surveys, and due diligence, ensuring a smooth development process.
What’s Next?
The next phase involves developing two international-standard cricket ovals and supporting facilities.
This new home will undoubtedly elevate Ugandan cricket to new heights, providing a world-class venue for players and fans alike.
As Cricket Uganda embarks on this new chapter, the organization looks forward to a bright future for the sport in the country.
