Cricket Uganda has confirmed that Uganda will stage the Easter Women’s T20 Cup from April 7th to 16th, 2026 at the Entebbe Cricket Oval, bringing together emerging international sides in a key preparatory tournament.
The competition will feature Uganda’s senior team, the Victoria Pearls, alongside Uganda A Women, facing visiting sides Nepal Women and USA Women in a series of non-T20 International matches designed to enhance player development and competitive readiness.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Richard Okia, Head of High Performance and Pathways at Cricket Uganda, emphasized the strategic importance of the series.
“These Easter Women’s T20 matches against USA and Nepal provide the perfect platform to test our teams at a high level.
For the Victoria Pearls, it is about sharpening our edge and building winning momentum, while Uganda A Women gain invaluable exposure to accelerate their growth and confidence on the international stage,” he noted.
Beyond local ambitions, the tournament also serves a broader international purpose.
Both Nepal and USA are using the tour as part of their build-up to the upcoming ICC Women’s Challenge Trophy, scheduled to take place in Rwanda from April 16th to May 1st, 2026.
The Rwanda event marks the inaugural edition of the Women’s Challenge Trophy and will bring together associate cricket nations, offering a significant milestone in the growth of women’s cricket globally.
Positioned as a developmental competition, the Easter Women’s T20 Cup underscores Uganda’s growing role as a regional hub for the sport while providing a vital competitive bridge for teams preparing for the next level of international cricket.
