The forward capitalized on a well-delivered assist from Francis Ogwang to give Uganda Martyrs a dream start.
Despite periods of resilience from the visitors, Uganda Martyrs maintained their edge and doubled their advantage deep into stoppage time.
Allan Odong found the back of the net in the 92nd minute, finishing off a precise setup from Gabriel Ogen to seemingly put the game beyond reach.
However, Muteesa I Royal University kept the contest alive in dramatic fashion.
Ali Lutwama converted a stoppage-time penalty to reduce the deficit, ensuring his side carries momentum and hope into the return leg next week.
With the narrow win, Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi take a crucial advantage into the second leg, though the late goal leaves the tie finely poised.
The quarter-final action continues on Thursday, 26th March 2026, as St. Lawrence University host Ndejje University at the Kavule Campus Playground.
