Uganda booked their place in the final of the CAF African Schools Football Championship with a tense 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Benin following a goalless stalemate in regulation time at Ngoni Stadium in Harare.
Represented by St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende, the Ugandan side demonstrated composure under pressure, converting four of their spot-kicks to edge past a resilient Benin outfit in a tightly contested semi-final played under bright, sunny conditions.

The victory extends Uganda’s impressive run in the tournament, underpinned by both attacking efficiency and defensive discipline.
From the group stages, the East Africans have looked purposeful, netting 10 goals while conceding just once—a statistic that underscores their balance across the pitch.
Their campaign has featured standout performances, including a commanding 6-0 triumph over the Democratic Republic of the Congo and a clinical 3-0 win against Morocco.
They also held hosts Zimbabwe to a 1-1 draw in the tournament’s opening fixture, setting the tone for a consistent and composed showing throughout.

Uganda will now turn their focus to the final scheduled for Friday, 10th April 2026, where they will face the winner between Senegal and Morocco, who were contesting the second semi-final at the time of reporting.
