The Uganda DanceSport Federation (UDSF) hosted a distinguished Iftar dinner at its Mengo offices on Friday evening, welcoming Muslim journalists, athletes, and administrators.

The event sought to foster unity and camaraderie among stakeholders in Uganda’s burgeoning DanceSport community.

Addressing attendees, UDSF General Secretary Banabas Ssebuyungo emphasized the unifying power of the sport.

“I feel privileged to host here in unity, love, and brotherhood. DanceSport is another form of religion, a culture where we showcase our God-given talents,” he remarked.

Ssebuyungo also highlighted the Federation’s strategic initiatives, revealing ongoing efforts to expand DanceSport to new regions.

“We have recently conducted outreach programs in five districts—Luweero, Nakasongola, Kyankwanzi, Kiboga, and Nakaseke—as part of our campaign to grow the sport,” he noted.

Looking ahead, he expressed optimism about Uganda’s competitive prospects. “The sport is growing rapidly; we have already qualified an athlete for the forthcoming Olympics and anticipate more international representation.”

The evening’s sumptuous menu complemented the Federation’s vibrant calendar, which includes the USSSA National Championship, FEASSA Games, and various international competitions.

By blending cultural celebration with strategic engagement, UDSF continues to elevate DanceSport as both a national pastime and a platform for global recognition.
